Maternal Care Unit

Develops and revises maternal care strategies, guidelines, and protocols informed by current evidence; provides technical support at national, provincial, and district levels.

The Maternal Care Unit chairs the Technical Advisory Committee on Maternal Care and Family Planning. The unit coordinates maternal care initiatives through collaboration with professional organizations and development partners.

Key responsibilities:
• Developing and revising maternal care strategies, guidelines, and protocols informed by current evidence.
• Providing technical support on maternal care matters at national, provincial, and district levels.
• Creating and adapting training materials for staff capacity building.
• Designing behavior change communication materials.
• Managing logistics for the maternal care program, including micronutrients and equipment.
• Chairing the Technical Advisory Committee on Maternal Care and Family Planning.
• Supporting undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programs including MSc Community Medicine, MSc Medical Administration, and Diploma in Reproductive Health courses.
